Online pictures to gif3/11/2023 ![]() ![]() While GIF was developed by CompuServe, it used the Lempel–Ziv–Welch (LZW) lossless data compression algorithm patented by Unisys in 1985. In September 1995 Netscape Navigator 2.0 added the ability for animated GIFs to loop. GIF was one of the first two image formats commonly used on Web sites, the other being the black-and-white XBM. By December 1987, for example, an Apple IIGS user could view pictures created on an Atari ST or Commodore 64. The two versions can be distinguished by looking at the first six bytes of the file (the " magic number" or signature), which, when interpreted as ASCII, read "GIF87a" or "GIF89a", respectively.ĬompuServe encouraged the adoption of GIF by providing downloadable conversion utilities for many computers. As there is little control over display fonts, however, this feature is rarely used. allowing text labels as text (not embedding them in the graphical data).storage of application-specific metadata. In 1989, CompuServe released an enhanced version, called 89a, This version added: This version already supported multiple images in a stream. The original version of GIF was called 87a. Since this was more efficient than the run-length encoding used by PCX and MacPaint, fairly large images could be downloaded reasonably quickly even with slow modems. GIF became popular because it used Lempel–Ziv–Welch data compression. This replaced their earlier run-length encoding format, which was black and white only. GIF images are compressed using the Lempel–Ziv–Welch (LZW) lossless data compression technique to reduce the file size without degrading the visual quality.įurther information: § Unisys and LZW patent enforcementĬompuServe introduced GIF on 15 June 1987 to provide a color image format for their file downloading areas. These palette limitations make GIF less suitable for reproducing color photographs and other images with color gradients, but well-suited for simpler images such as graphics or logos with solid areas of color. It also supports animations and allows a separate palette of up to 256 colors for each frame. The format supports up to 8 bits per pixel for each image, allowing a single image to reference its own palette of up to 256 different colors chosen from the 24-bit RGB color space. It is in widespread usage on the World Wide Web due to its wide support and portability between applications and operating systems. The Graphics Interchange Format ( GIF / ɡ ɪ f/ GHIF or / dʒ ɪ f/ JIF, see pronunciation) is a bitmap image format that was developed by a team at the online services provider CompuServe led by American computer scientist Steve Wilhite and released on 15 June 1987. ![]()

Sparkle 2 switch3/11/2023 ![]() ![]() The only slight issue I have with it is that it’s a little confusing to change them through the pause menu. These modifiers are a nice addition to the game and give the player an extra goal to work towards. There are four levels of enchantments, and as each level is unlocked, another enchantment can be equipped with a maximum of four being equipped simultaneously, one from each block of enchantments. To differentiate the gameplay somewhat, 10tons has included some modifiers called ‘enhancements’. Enchantments can make the harder levels a little easier by changing some mechanics, such as launching orbs faster or removing a color from the path(s). A mysterious narrator tells the tale of five keys that you have to collect ![]() There’s also a nice narrating voice that guides you through the game, which gives off a sense of comfort. The story is nothing special, but it does help in keeping your attention since you’re always close to getting the next key. There are 18 levels between every landmark, which totals to 90 levels that you have to complete in the game to reach the end. These keys can be found in several landmarks that are scattered around the map. The tale starts in a forest and talks about five keys that have to be collected in order to unlock a secret something. To give the player something to work towards outside of simply completing every level, 10tons has included a short story. Some levels have more than one path of marbles The level ends when you have destroyed every marble on the path. When these runes are fully formed, then there will be no more new strings of marbles coming your way. ![]() While shooting marbles, there are runes forming a circle around your turret. If your shot marble connects to a string that consists out of three or more marbles of the same color, then that string disappears. That’s why you take control of a turret that shoots the same kind of marbles in the direction you desire. If a marble reaches the hole, it’s game over. Colored marbles roll in strings on a set path towards a hole. The gameplay of Sparkle 2 is straightforward. While a small, easy to learn video game that plays like a smartphone app doesn’t feel quite right on consoles, it does has its place on portable ones, like the Switch. Sparkle 2, the sequel to Sparkle Unleashed, is a marble-shooting matching title developed by 10tons that has been released on countless platforms, with the Nintendo Switch version being the most recent. ![]()

Curve text coreldraw3/11/2023 ![]() I did this by using the Virtual Segment Delete tool. Cleaned Up TextĪs you can see I have now removed the links between each letter, so now the whole text string is one complete curve. This is useful for making words with connecting letters… in the next step we will fix the letters up so they won’t all fall apart. To create the first text object, choose the Text Tool (T) from the Toolbar and click and drag a text area on top of the circle. Click and drag to draw a path on the canvas. Select the Text on a Path tool from the Tools menu or toolbar. In the image above I have moved the letters together so that they overlap. Open CorelDRAW and create a new document. This can be done by right hand clicking the vectorized text and clicking “Break Curve Apart” or by pressing “CTRL + K”. In the image above, you can see that I have broken the curve apart, so I can edit each letters size and position separately. This can be printed directly to JobControl now and cut out of a piece of material. Here you can see I changed the font and created an outline of the text. There is also a shortcut for this feature, you can call the shape tool by pressing “F10”. Alternatively you can click the shape tool from the toolbar and click the text. Here we can see I have edited the nodes of the text by double clicking the text with the pointer tool. ![]() Now that the text is in vector format, you can edit it just like any other vector object in CorelDraw. Terms for Converting Text to Vector Graphic While CorelDRAW uses the term convert to curves, Adobe Illustrator uses create outlines. NOTE: Once the text is converted to curves, you are unable to edit the text string. The next step is to right hand click the text we just placed into the document, and click “Convert to Curves”, or alternatively by clicking “CTRL + Q”. Once you have created a new document, place some text onto the blank document as shown above. The first step is to open CorelDraw, here I am using CorelDraw X7. ![]() This is our number one choice software to use when. In this tutorial we will touch on the basics of vectorizing text, if you would like to see a more detailed tutorial on any aspect of vectorizing fonts, please leave a comment below. In this short holiday-inspired tutorial, learn how you can create curved text by attaching text to a path (object) in Corel Draw 2018. Create a quick stencil from readily available fonts.Keeping the resolution of the text constant as its size increases. There are many reasons why you might want to vectorize text for your artwork, some might include: In this tutorial we will learn how to vectorize text using CorelDraw for use with a Trotec laser engraving machine. ![]()

Pocket watch chain3/11/2023 ![]() ![]() But how do you know if your …The Elgin National Watch Company, commonly known as Elgin Watch Company, was a major US watch maker from 1864 to 1968. That’s why they are highly treasured up to this day. My above example is just to show what you can make with easily found craft store items.Elgin pocket watches were made of different materials, including gold and silver. ![]() If you are looking for the correct pocket watch swivel clasps, you can find them on places like Etsy or Ebay. This is certainly a higher fashion way of rocking a pocket watch. If you do a Google image search for pocket watch chains, you'll see the other common way of wearing a chain was to go from one pocket to the other with the charm hanging from the buttonhole. One other thing you can do is to use longer lengths of chain. You can see on my antique chain, that three different types of chains were used. This example is just a spring board for future creativity. Congratulations, you've made your very own simple pocket watch chain. Finally, attach the large spring clip with a jump ring and clip on your pocket watch. On the charm ring, attach the small spring clip with a jump ring. Attach the toggle to the upper short chain with a jump ring. Join them all with a single jump ring in the middle. ![]() My original has two lengths, one at 9" and 2 pieces at 1.5". Once home, all you have to do is cut your lengths of chain. Before you leave, you may want to pick up some small, smooth jaw needle nose pliers and a pair of diagonal side cuts, if you don't have any. You won't need the loop, but be sure to choose a toggle big enough that it won't fall easily out of your button hole. You'll have a bar toggle that will serve as the t-bar and a loop. Toggles are typically used for bracelets and sometimes necklaces. Then you'll need to chose a toggle to hold everything in your vest's buttonhole. If it doesn't end up big enough, that okay, just put a jump ring on the charm and the ring will easily fit into the spring clip. Lastly, you'd also hopefully have a charm chosen, but if not, chose a spring clip about 6 or 9mm to attach the chain to the charm. Ideally, you'd already have your pocket watch with you to help you chose the large spring clip that will clip to the pocket watch. The jump chains will hold the three chains together and will attach your chains to the proper spring clips. Once you have your chain, find a pack of "jump chains" that fits with the style. In fact, I had to use a "lobster claw" clip for the charm chain rather than a 6 or 9mm spring clip. I chose antique brass for this example and finding the spring clips I needed was really difficult. I recommend starting out with a simple chain in either silver, gold, or copper. If you're at Michael's, don't forget your coupons! I recommend by starting with choosing a chain. Let's jump in to the construction details and I can share with you how I work around these.įirst, you'll want to visit a local craft store and check out the jewelry section. The "dog clip" that clips the chain to the watch and the triple ring that attaches the chains together, are parts I haven't seen elsewhere in jewelry making. You have a chain to the watch that is about 9 or so inches for a single pocket wear, a 1.5 to 2" chain to the t-bar or toggle that goes to the buttonhole, and another same size chain to the charm.Īntique watch chains have parts that are pretty much unique unto themselves. More importantly, this illustrates the three main parts of a watch chain. The pocket watch isn't technically period correct but the Masonic emblem is the style of the period. I, like others in our company are Freemasons and express this through my watch and chain. The first photo shows my watch and chain. Making your own is inexpensive and gives you an opportunity to express your historical personality. Chains and charms that were attached to them reflected the owner's style and personality. You can find pocket watch chains on Ebay, but you can also make your own. The type of straight chain with what looks like a belt clip on the other end is designed for the modern user. The ones that come with modern pocket watches are not period correct. Unfortunately, finding proper chains can be sometimes be a real challenge. A proper pocket watch chain is just as important as the pocket watch. ![]() |
